Royal Canadian Air Force Women's Division

This tile features an image of the Royal Canadian Air Force Women's Division in formation at the corner of Main and York Street in 1944. Thousands of women volunteered to be members of the Royal Canadian Air Force. They were war time pioneers. They took on many support roles so that men could fly. Their motto was, 'We Serve that Men May Fly'. They served in Canada and over seas performing many tasks including aircraft repair, air traffic control etc. Information Source: The Canadian Encyclopedia
