This painting is a part of the series on 'My Core Values'. It is all about working hard to accomplish your goals. My father used to say, 'The harder you work, the smarter you get'. Hard work is one of my core values that I got from my father. In this painting you see a series of steps that are not defined clearly, similar to the undefined paths in life. No matter which path is chosen, climbing up the steps and reaching to the top requires effort and hard work.

The Story Behind

When I was in college I had to study for long hours. Many a days I would spend 12-14 hours studying, doing assignments and preparing for tests and exams. Late at night before going to sleep, my father would walk in, put his hand on my shoulder and recite to me the following words of William Wadsworth Longfellow.

"The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night."

That was my father's way of encouraging me and supporting me. Thus, the value of working hard got deeply ingrained in me. To this day, it has served me well in my life.

Knowing where one wants to go, setting the goal and focusing on it are important in order to succeed. If one can eliminate distractions and stay focused on a single goal, success is not hard to attain. Sometimes it takes a young six-year old to remind us of this. It is based on a true story.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
