Possibilities

Possibilities (30"x 40") is a mixed media painting on canvas. It uses uplifting colours and imagery to communicate the message that there are immense possibilities that lie within us and all around us. The choice is ours.

My process of creating art is akin to the process of discovery. I grew up in India, where people wear colourful clothes and beautiful jewellry. The festivals in India are a display of colours and artistic creativity. All of these things influence my artistic creations. I find colour is my friend. It helps me express what I feel deep down.

Look at this painting entitled, 'Possibilities'. The luminous colours of yellow, red, iridescent purple, aqua green themselves communicate immense possibilities. If you look closely, you will find various symbols that communicate the message that all possibilities lie with in us. You'll see a profile in the right side of the painting looking beyond in a faraway landscape. Yes, there are immense possibilities lie ahead and at the same time there are possibilities behind and all around. There are figurative elements of birds, hands, shells, flowers and a doorway- all symbolizing enormous possibilities all around us. It is up to us to choose and make the best of our opportunities.

Looking back on this year, it is clear that it was a fabulous year, a year in which I made progress on many fronts. I improved my skills in ceramics and painting. I created art non-stop because people loved what I was creating, particularly the art mugs and asked for them.
