Do you have the perfect answer for Corona virus?

Lately the only topic of conversation on the news or with friends and family is Covid-19. It is unbelievable how this virus has crippled us all. No one could have imagined six months ago how our lives would change. If you haven’t seen the 2011 science fiction movie ‘Contagion’, you may wish to see it. In 2011 it was science fiction. Today we are all living this reality. Enough said.

I came across this website that gives four ways of dealing with adversity. I think it is helpful to pause and think about these ways. At the very least, they will help us in dealing better with the current reality.

The four ways are

  1. Staying positive
  2. Find ways of expressing ourselves, through writing, painting, singing etc.
  3. Be in nature
  4. Focus on personal development.

All these are things that we all know, but at times like this they are a good reminder to channel our energy in the right direction.

Free Online Art Lessons

I created a series of ‘paint with me’ art lessons. I decided to offer some free online art lessons  with the idea of helping people reduce stress and giving them something fun to do during the pandemic. Creating art, I find, is a great way to relax and reduce stress. These simple lessons are on YouTube. Paint your heart out and have fun. It is not necessary to have any previous experience to try out these lessons.  Here are the links –

Sackville Blog 5

How do I depict a group of settlers that lived here in the 17th and 18th century? Representing the Acadians proved to be quite challenging. I couldn’t find images that would tell the story of Acadians and depict their existence in the Tantramar area. There are some paintings by some artists, but not actual photographs.
